Race Report Blancpain Sprint Watkins Glen - Season 3, Week 2, 2017

race-report-blancpain-sprint-watkins-glen-season-3-week-2-2017

Qualify

Qualy was not overly good with qualifying way down the order with some mistakes made through some of the slower corners on the race circuit.

Race

The race went about as poorly as qualy with being punted off in the first corner which did some damage to the car and then a couple of mistakes by me all but damaged any chance of the car being competitive overall a pretty poor result.

Race Report - IMSA Sports Cars Watkins Glen - Season 3, Week 2, 2017

race-report-imsa-sports-cars-watkins-glen-season-3-week-2-2017

Qualifying

Qualy didn't go too badly with a midfield position gained and only fractions of a second away from the top ten which was a good result.

Race

The race was very eventful at the start with a big accident in the first couple of corners which I came through unscathed.  After the first lap I was well in the top ten and looking to push towards the top five.  Over the subsequent laps I made a couple of errors which put me out of the top ten and then pitted early to try for an undercut.  The undercut paid off at the end with a top ten finish and some strong lap times.  Overall I was pretty happy with the result but it could have been better.

Race Report - Season 3, 2017 Week 2 Lime Rock

race-report-season-3-2017-week-2-lime-rock

Qualifying

Qualy went really well with posting a time that was good for second and only a couple of tenths off pole position.

Race

The race didn't get off to the best of starts with the car oversteering on the first left-hander which meant I had to take to the grass and ended up near the end of the field once I got back onto the black stuff.  A few laps later I had another issue which had the car taking to the grass and losing more time to the leaders.  Once I settled into a good groove I started posting quick lap times and pushed my to the front and claimed my win in the Pro Mazda Series.

Home Computers – Making Life Easier Everyday

Home Computers Are Your Friend

Computers are one of our best friends in the world. In this age of modern technology, we can’t think of any day without the touching the device. It has changed our lifestyle so much that we have made them a part and parcel of our life as well. Since the invention of computers, they have evolved and progressed through development and got the outlook they’re available today.  Today home computers are a main part of the household.

An Idea

The idea of computer came to reality in 1833. On that time, the entire computer was consisted of parts that could be the size of almirah. Not only that, calculating a single addition could take a while, and needed huge source of power supply to keep the machinery running. That was like a nothing but a fancy machine. Even a hard drive of just 1 MB would need a lorry to transport – simply, not tolerable.

Then, scientists continued developing the machine and could make it human operable and industrially affordable. Then, it was just used to do math, and still needed a big space to operate.

The first PC that was codenamed ENIAC, came out in 1946. It was smaller, smarter and its circuits and design was much more efficient than the old ones.

Since then, we have invented micro SD technology, advanced memory development, advanced CPU, etc. All these revolutionary changes have evolved the idea of a computer, and we have come to enjoy what we have today in our home.

What Makes Up A Home Computer

Home computers today come in different types – desktops, laptops, notebook etc. But all of them consist of basic structure. All of them takes human input, processes it through the CPU, and gives the output.

It’s pretty basic, right? The main core of a computer is its motherboard, where all the other hardware are attached and function. ROM, RAM, CPU, cooler, I/O jacks, etc. all are connected via the motherboard.

Nowadays, we not only use home computers just to do web surfing, we’ve seen extreme usages like gaming, graphics designing, etc. High performance games are running in different computers, all thanks to advanced CPU technology. Graphics cards come up with extra CPU that only works on graphics, making the general CPU work under less pressure. Graphics designing is another heavy work, and with the help of high capacity RAM and powerful CPU, they’re being done very easily. That’s why we’re enjoying cool movies.

Home computers are also a great part of our work. We can now complete office works, watch movies, listen to songs, etc. without any hard time. Above all, it’s a revolutionary tool to our everyday life.

Home Cyber Security Tips – Secure From Cyber Attack

Some Home Cyber Security Tips

Home cyber security is the body of processes, practices, and technologies designed to protect computers, data, programs and networks from cyber-attack, damages or illegal access. Security includes both physical security and cybersecurity. The cyber world is insecure, day-by-day, rapidly vulnerability is increasing. Here comes, cyber security to help. It ensures that no sensitive data is stolen or watched by cybercriminals.

Nowadays most households run networks of devices connected to the web, including laptops, gaming devices, computer, tablets, Smartphones and TVs that access the wireless network. Anytime we connect to the internet we are vulnerable to cyber-attacks. Cybercriminals can steal our password and tax records, credit card numbers, or even completely disable our computer. For the safety and security of our network almost certainly something we have been dealing with for a long time.

Tools For Home Cyber Security

For our home cyber security, we need to be aware of few things. Phone number, family photographs, bank accounts and work files are personal resources we keep safe in our house. Storing data in digital devices is increasing rapidly. For that cybercriminals can easily steal our data if we make any mistake. Digital protection for our personal data in not very different from what we would do for a home. We have a responsible for our own cybersecurity. Many security holes happen because of carelessness.

Never use the same password for all digital accounts as well for making complex password use a mix of upper and lower case letters, special characters, numbers, 10 characters, ideally more and ever write down the password. If a cybercriminal gains access to our one account, they would have the key to everything else.

We should not click on unfamiliar links. Clicking on them means letting someone we don’t know into the home. Once they are in-house, means they can do whatever they want. Usually, for wireless devices, after work turn off Bluetooth until you need. Keeping Bluetooth turn on means leaving a window open for anyone to climb in and out our network whenever they like.

Be Aware Of Scams

Be aware from Phishing and Scam emails which are attempt to get users to click on a malicious URL as well use safeguard for the internet connection by using a firewall & encrypting information. Make sure all PCs are equipped with antivirus software and antispyware as well updated regularly. Regularly backup the data on PC.

Backup data regular and be sure anti-virus software is always up-to-date. Never leave your devices unattended.

Home Network Wiring – Wired V Wireless For The Home

Having The Right Home Network Wiring

Home networks are one of the most widely used networking systems that allows multiple devices to keep contact with each other and function properly. It’s also important to enjoy awesome, cool features like remote desktop, sharing internet and files etc. There are a lot of things that can be done with networking.  To get the most from your network you need to make sure you have the correct home network wiring.

Home networks are spread within a short range, generally covering the entire house. There can be so many things in the network. Even satellite wiring, telephone wiring, computer wiring – all are a part of the home networks wiring. Wired network can be a little bit hefty and troublesome to implement, but they’re super-fast and secure at the same time.

Satellite Networks

Satellite wiring can’t be ignored in today’s world of satellite. Lots of our communications and data transmissions are done over satellite. Satellite antenna is very important to enjoy clearer and louder sound over the TV. Satellite offers more channels with better quality as the signal transmission is stronger. Satellite is already offering high speed data transmission for customers. Telephone companies, TV channel companies also tend to go with satellite transmission. A little wiring for the setup can pay up to thousand times ultimately.

Home Computer Networks

Computer networking is one of the most important part of home networks. Most homes now have several computers. Networking amongst them is the best way to boost their usage. With networking, any file from any of the computers can be accessed. Not only that, internet connection can be shared very easily and can be accessible from any of the devices. In order to accomplish that, we need networking. Wired networking might seem a little bit awkward, as it’s the age of wireless and we can do everything without the wire. But there are lots of facilities that can’t be available in the wireless technology, not yet. For any home network wiring you need to make sure that it is secure.

First of all, wired connection are faster than wireless. For example, you can transfer file up to 10-20 MB/s with wired connection, where via fastest wireless technology available in the market, it can be nearly 5-10 MB/s. That’s a huge difference. Again, with wired network, you can ensure that no intruder is sneaking into your network where wireless network can allow hackers to get into your system very easily. Wired connections can be a little bit costly to implement, but it’s better for human health as well.

After all, with high performance and security, wired networking stomps wireless networking very easily.

Home Networking – Get The Most From Your Devices

What Is Home Networking

Home networking means connecting a group of devices, for example, game system, PC and printers as well as mobile devices that connect to the internet and to each other. In two ways home networks connect. First one is a wired network, which connects devices like scanners and printers with cables. The second one is a wireless network, which connects devices such as e-readers and tablets without the need for a cable.

All home computer networks start with a network cable. Even if we plan on using all wireless clients, in most cases we will still require at least one cable to connect the broadband modem and the wireless router. Although Cable-less networks are very convenient, wired networks are faster than Wi-Fi in every other way. Cable networks are faster, provide a more reliable connection and are more secure as well set-up is easy and troubleshooting than wireless connections. If we’re sitting on the sofa with a laptop, or linking a Wi-Fi-only device, for example, an iPad, wired Ethernet is the better way to go. So we see that wired networking is an important thing.

Pros And Cons Of Wireless Networking

Many of us meet their needs with a mix of wired and wireless networking. For example, devices that stream movies help from the quicker and steadier wired connection. Devices like Tablets or laptops, however, advantage from the mobility available with a cable-less connection.
Both the wireless gateway 1 & wireless gateway 2 come with cable-less capability as well as four Ethernet ports allowing us to link devices without and with wire at the same time. There are some home networking terms.
Such as wireless network – It’s pretty convenient which is called Wi-Fi, modem – which device is connected router or computers to the internet via a wire, router – is a device that transmits a wireless signal as well as link devices to each other and Internet via the modem. Gateway device’s functions like router and modem, signal range – indicate an area which cable less wire devices can pick up the wireless signal and link to the wireless network.  Make sure you learn about home network security.
Sometimes lots of ports and cables required for cable network which can be a headache and also, difficult and expensive to set-up. As well, wireless network less secure than wired, the user can access the network from anywhere with any range. Equally information and bandwidth can sometimes be accessed.
So upgrade your home with a structured wire or wireless as your wish and enjoy your home networking. Cheers!

Race Report - iRacing Blancpain Sprint Zandvoort

race-report-iracing-blancpain-sprint-zandvoort

Circuit Zandvoort is the final race of Season 2, 2017 for the iRacing Blancpain Sprint Series.  Zandvoort is an awesome little circuit in Belgium.  The track has some fast corners and tight hairpins which makes for a challenge and combining this with differing heights and cambers can make this track a real handfull to get the hang of.

Qualifying

Qualifying went really well with posting a lap time that was around a second off the pace of the real fast guys in this split.  My time was good enough for 11th position which should make for a good race.

Race

The race went well, getting a good start and moving up to 9th position after the first couple of laps.  Unfortunately for me I made some small mistakes which damaged the car and cost a lot of time.  By the end of the race I ended up were I qualified in 11th position.

Protect Your Computer With Home Security Software

Cyber world is full of threats. In order to keep protected, we must take several measures – home security software is the top of them. Security software comes up with all the tools and instruments needed to defend against most of the attacks coming from internet or other sources. It’s very important especially for home computers, because they’re the most vulnerable to cyber-attack.

What Is Home Security Software

What is security software? they’re software just like other apps, but full of advanced mechanism that can detect and take action against malware and viruses. It’s very important to have it installed on your system, as more and more threats with lots of advanced techniques are arising. They’re mainly targeting home computers, as users aren’t overly aware and skilled to defend against cyber attack.

Security Software Needs To Stay Up To Date

Security software is kept up to date with latest virus and malware definitions from their manufacturers. Companies like Kaspersky, Bitdefender, Avira, etc. analyze the web, make sure that all threats are detected and send the definition of the malware to the software. They also collect information from the users’ security experience, learn from every new phenomenon and thus, brings out the updates needed to defend against the new threat.

It’s very important to have a security software because we, common people, don’t have any knowledge on technical details of the system and how it works, how virus can attack. The companies spend their entire time on it, so they are more expert than us. With their product, we can keep ourselves secured and free of threats.

In the case of home computers, we don’t know how to defend against threat. Security software are designed for that purpose, to stay protected in any situation. If we are connected to a network, a virus can easily spread over the network. The security software will prevent our computers to be affected by the threat that was released throughout the network.  I have written an article on home network security.

Moreover, security software are important for personal usage as well. For example, someone’s trying to attack us via phishing or any other malicious link. Security software are aware of that, can detect the phenomenon and warn us to be secured. They can defend against the attacks that are directly coming from the web, trying to intrude the computer system.

The cyber world isn’t secured at all. No one knows when another wave of attacks is coming, or if you’re under attack right now. That’s why, for home computers, security software is a must have.

Let IOT Manage Your Home Security

IoT is a futuristic technology, labeling our everyday objects with machine-readable identification tags. The fast growing IoT (Internet of Things) phenomenon offer many promising concepts in the future as well has having changed our lives in unbelievable ways. Cyber security in IoT needs an underlying smart network. A few years back internet connected devices were not that common. Now you can manage your home security with internet enabled devices.
The IoT allow us to control and automate the work that is done on a daily basis, without human intervention. To maintain transparency in the processes use machine to machine communicating. Also, leads to regularity in the tasks, maintain the quality of service. IoT-based connected home systems enable us to act remotely as if we are physically at home.
Internet of Things is popular as an idiosyncratic way of automating our house, such as talking fridge or some fancy clapper. IoT gives us the freedom to know our loved ones are safe and sound. About 62% people use IoT to remotely manage their house alarms using their smartphones. One in Five users interact with their home system 3 times a day, typically for home security.

Home Security Using IoT

About 72% of home owners use IP cameras with motion detectors to generate short videos for being sure their kids have returned home safely, look-in to check kid’s pets are ok, getting a video alert when the front door opens to know who reached home at specific times and for smoke alert too.
Home security will cover the method for the normal acceptance of IoT devices. The logic is simple that each person values their security, as well as IoT, is providing them the means in an advanced, low-cost-way. Moreover, the future for the development of these technologies is extensive open.
We are living in the golden age of technology development. IoT is one kind of bless of since. IoT’s promise is automated your lifestyle, secure and live a richer, more interconnected life. Now, if only IoT might build a moat around our home.
Although, IoT has quite a few difficulties, its benefits of saving the customer money and time can’t be ignored. So the time isn’t far when the IoT (Internet of Things) will be commonly seen in both companies and households. Efforts will have to be prepared to find techniques to fight its disadvantages. We can hope that one day we all will be able to enjoy the blessing of IoT without any trouble.
